This morning there are lots of responses to Labour's proposed cuts to disability benefits, here are just two:

1. As Anna Landre argues, what the Govt. actually needs to do is: 'ask disabled people who want to work what keeps them from doing so & construct targeted policies to address those barriers'...

rather than just assume they know the answers & can make disabled people's decisions about support for them.

I wrote to my new Labour MP, James McNaish (nephew of Alastair Campbell) about the two- child benefit cap. Here's his reply:

"On the two-child benefit cap, it is a source of great frustration for MPs that this hasn't been included in the King’s Speech; BUT it wasn't in our manifesto, so it would have been dangerous politically to start including brand new commitments less than two weeks after a general election.
