Took this photo the other day at Hudson and West 12th. It's not an area I'm usually in but I had to stop because I just really liked the building. After some quick research it turns out that in the early 1900s it was a young woman's residence. I will link an article that details its history better

I have walked by this building and admired the architecture many times, just found out that it was the original flagship Lord & Taylor. Learned something new today, along with the fact that it was New York's first iron framed building #nyc #photography #BlackAndWhite #blackandwhitephotography

The first side has a great deal of intricate ironwork and columns, including a small tubular on the top. The ironwork is also painted white making it contrast more with the buildings next to it, which are a darker brick
