His tail is flat on the ground, exiting the picture at stage right.

A photo of Ernie, a young tabby cat, sitting (somewhat properly) on the floor, looking both slightly taken aback and simultaneously curious at the same time. His head is somewhat recoiled, but his eyes are focussed and wide, as if ready for a hunt. His tail seems to be mid flick, definitely considering playtime.
The bum of another tabby cat (Mini) is visible to the right of the image, but only a bit.
As usual with these indoor shots, the depth of field is shallowed, drawing the focus primarily on Ernie and his cute little face.
