For those who don't know me, hi! My name is Kaz, i'm a 17 year old trans teenager living in the hell of California in an unsafe environment. I'm getting kicked out of the house in June (2 months from now) and I need any possible help I can to afford food and other basic necessities.

I won't be able to get a job till 18 due to needing parental permission, but thankfully i'm 18 in August!

For now tho, food at both homes (My mothers and fathers) is pretty unstable and I'm unable to get the necessities I need, including medications. I do not have safe access to any sorts of food banks either. My mother spends all her money on animals, junk (She's a hoarder), cigarettes and alcohol. My father on the other hand, he denies me access to my own medical care often, denies me access to food as punishments, etc.

I'm needing some more money for some clothes again as I currently only have two pairs of jeans, a falling apart pair of shoes, some shirts (I'm good on shirts don't worry! :floof_Heart:) and I'm covered on jackets as I've stolen some of my boyfriends :floof_Teehee: (It's been raining here tho at least summer is coming up!)

I need to be able to support myself and my younger siblings (15) and occasionally my 5 year old brother. There's 7 people living in my home and my parents often go on cruises and don't leave enough food or necessities. The cruises go up to 2 weeks. I also have braces and my family refuses to get food that accommodates to my needs with my braces.

I'm trying to slowly save up for when I'm kicked out in two months but I need to be able to get through day to day life without struggle, I have very limited places when I'm kicked out, if those people are willing to take me in. If not, I'm going to either have to couch surf or I'll be on the streets. :neko_scream_sob:

Friend asked me on how to help her trans kid. I couldn't find a good guide for this, especially with states like Iowa stripping us of our rights.

I want to be clear that this should not be done without the child's input. Always, always trust the kid to understand and always give them the chance to participate. There are ways to adjust the language for the age of the child, and children often have creative ideas when given the chance to participate. The goal here is to give the child the tools to help them thrive, okay? Thanks for understanding.

So without further ado, here's steps on how to help trans kids navigate all of this.

1. Identify safe groups where the child can be themself. Remember, the child likely will have ideas on who to ask. So be sure to ask the child who they trust for this conversation.

*NOTE: Talk with those on the "trusted" list and/or leaders of the trusted groups and verify they will defend the kid's right to be themself and support them. (Child doesn't necessarily have to be present for this, but let the child know how it went to ease anxiety.)

2. Identify which friends are safe and will honor their pronouns. Again, the child will have ideas on this too. Make a list together!

3. Sit down with the kid and explain this process.

* (For my friend, I shared with them how I also wrote up a safety plan and harm reduction plan on how to navigate an increasingly hostile society such as my state stripping me of my civil rights. Having examples of others who have done this can help solidify the need and make it more approachable and less scary).

4. Share the list of groups and people who support the kid and will have their back 100%. (Be ready to hold those people accountable as a behind-the-scenes thing). Ask the kid if there are others they think you should work with to get them on board. Add them to the "talk to" part of the list."

5. Build a harm reduction and safety plan with the kid. This includes:

* Talk about how to handle strangers in public spaces in a way that avoids too much misgendering but also keeps the kid safe. (Maybe use only their name and avoid pronouns entirely for instance).
* Talk about how to handle medical professionals who are not known for being trans-friendly; how in those instances the kid will be wearing a "costume" as a safety strategy where they pretend to be x gender.
*Talk about parks and other public spaces.
*Talk about how to handle when meeting new people. How to test the water to see if it is safe to take off the 'x gender costume' or not.

6.Make sure the kid signs off on the harm reduction and safety plan, and that they feel included in it. Try to make it fun by drawing out scenarios, and explaining how sometimes we have to act like we're in a play for that scenario. We put on our "costume of x gender" and act out a play. Then when we are out of that scenario, we can take off our "costume of x gender" and enjoy being ourselves again around our safe groups and people.

(I'll write this up as a blogpost eventually. But for now, wanted to put it out there for folks to think about since transphobia and anti-trans legislation and policies are ramping up again. Please share any tips or resources you know of that can help!)

I had to go to the doctor and because my parents got caught violating my HIPAA rights and I finally got access to my own medical, they're trying to force me to pay the bill. They won't let me get a job.


I'm trying to keep this one short but for those who don't know the situation there's more on my page.


Here's a photo of the bill, I'm gonna need about $340 total for it. I'm talking to the hospital tomorrow morning with my cranial facial on this matter and their legal team to help me fight against my parents at 18.

I've got 11 more months now that we've just about knocked out August. 11 more months till I can escape my family! :floof_Heart: For now tho, I still need support & aid.

For those who don't know me or haven't seen my posts around, i'll give you a quick run down. :floof_Heart:

I'm a now 17 year old high school student who can't get a job (My parents won't let me), can't drive (Again, parent's won't let me), etc and I need to be able to take care of me and my younger brother who's 15. In some cases i'm also left to take care of my stepsister who's 16 and my youngest brother who's 5. My family has money but refuses to take care of me and my brother for literally no reason. I have chronic illness and I need the medications for it or else it gets worse, along with that, I need surgeries that they are refusing me. I'm left to pay for my own doctors appointments if I don't get it "confirmed" by them allowing me to go which is ridiculous. My parents are both divorced and have separate spouses, both parents have expressed not wanting me and neither are a safe place for any of the kids. My father is abusive and my mother Is a hoarder (She'd rather buy animals, drugs, alcohol, literal garbage, etc rather than food.). I'm refused medical care, food (Yes, as punishments I'm not allowed to eat food) and I've even been locked out of the house for just being transgender. It's an unsafe environment and I need help to be able to survive and get out of this hell.

Neither of my parents support me for being trans and the only supportive family member I have who can take me in is my grandmother but due to court stuff I can't. I'm trying to get emancipated but for the time being i'll have to keep doing this until I can get out of here. I'm consonantly at risk of being kicked out and everything else.

Without fundings I won't be able to safely access things I need such as; food, medications, hygiene products, medical care, etc.

Below i've provided a cost breakdown of everything needed :floof_Heart: Any excess funds will be stored away for emergency money & money to help me get out of here at 18.


FOOD: $400

HYGIENE: $30 (Feminine products, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, etc)

MEDICATIONS: $50 (5x meds for chronic disease (4 prescription + 1 one reg), anxiety/insomnia meds, pain killers)
