These are paper maps. As the name suggests, they are maps printed on paper. Some of the benefits of paper maps are:
* You get to see the big picture
* You get to see the context
* Geographic places name
* You get to see fine details
* You can read them in daylight
* No batteries needed
Digital maps have their use, like zoomed in satellite view, but I wouldn't go anywhere without a paper map.
