Is today #FediHire Friday? Sure looks like it!

What I'm looking for: A senior level, individual contributor role supporting Windows, Active Directory, Certificates, PKI, Azure, and information security in a large environment. Interested in relocating outside of the US. I like to solve weird problems and make computers run smoothly. I want to help others use technology effectively.

My main focus the last few years has been rebuilding and modernizing a struggling certificate management team. That includes growing the team to meet our company needs, migrating our AD-integrated private PKI stack, getting a handle on our web PKI consumption, and making massive improvements to our certificate lifecycle management platform. I supported and advised our CyberSec and Desktop teams as we rolled out multi-factor authentication to 50,000 employees and contractors across the US. My background in understanding deep computer fundamentals, talent for quickly grasping nuances of larger systems, and calmness in a crisis have contributed to quickly resolving major technology outages regardless of root cause.

This role hasn't been exclusively technical. A big part of my current job is building relationships with our developers to help them understand how certificates work, the responsible ways to use them, and what our relevant internal policies are. I've been training and teaching junior and mid-level engineers both practical PKI concepts and our specific enterprise requirements. I've gotten to spend some time with upper management to both explain the immediate challenges we've had and the plans we can implement improve our infrastructure, reducing costs and outages.

While this position has been focused on certs and how to use them, I'm very comfortable considering a technical leadership role for Windows (server and desktop) administration and Active Directory. I also have some good experience with Azure and virtualization platforms, but they haven't been my daily focus for several years.

My current employer is direct retail for general public consumers. I've also worked in banking/finance, manufacturing, and architecture firms. The common thread is I love to help people leverage technology for their goals, to help them be more effective.

In my personnel/volunteer time I've done very similar: working backstage with lights/sounds/projections so live performers can do their best.

Right now I'm in Syracuse, New York (about five hours from NYC), but I'm open to relocation/migration anywhere in the world.

PMs open if you want to talk details. Boosts/reshares appreciated.

Hello mastodon. I could use some help. #fedihire

TL;DR: I was laid off a while ago, and the traditional "go scour job sites and apply" is currently broken. So - let's try social media. Please boost if you are willing, or pass this along if you know someone who needs what I can offer.

I'll be brief: I'm a very experienced System Reliability Engineer, with a track record of dependability and scalability. I take people's problems - stability, uptime, scale, cost, durability, speed, security and attack resistance - and fix them. I have the dubious honor of generally costing less to employ than I save my employer. If everything is perfect - you don't need me. But if you do, you may need me badly.

I'm available. Drop me a note.

I am located in Ventura, California, and strongly prefer remote work. I don't require visas or special accommodation to work in the US.

Here's a resume:

Hi! I'm looking for a job around Sttuttgart (fully remote or hybrid)!

I am 26 years old and am looking for a job in software engineering. Languages I use are mostly Rust, Go, and C, but I'm open to learn other languages.

I am interested in embedded Linux, Linux kernel (core or driver development, including Rust for Linux), or "low-level" application development. Besides software development, I am intersted in creation of root filesystems, and in helping to maintain (custom) Linux distributions. I occasionally contribute to Alpine Linux in my free time and have experience maintaining a custom Debian-based distribution.

You can contact me here or through any of the channels listed on my website: https://wiredspace.de/about/#contact
I will give out my CV after initial contact as I'm not comfortable posting it online.

Thank you!

Time for another round of #HireAlice! I've had some prospects, but I'm running out of unemployment benefits and need something soon.

With a lot of (big) tech companies slashing DEI and removing trans/queer-inclusive wording from their policies, the pool of companies I'm willing to work for has become a lot smaller lately.

So, if you're a hiring manager (or can put me in touch with one) for any senior data positions, please let me know.

Thank you all so much :floofHeart:

Dear Fediverse,

I need some help to survive in this capitalist dystopia, which means I need money :neocat_laugh_sweat: Specifically I'm looking for a fulfilling position focused on helping disadvantaged folx. Although one that pays well and isn't evil would do in a pinch 💁‍♀️

Many of y'all know me and what I stand for, but here's the pitch anyway:

What I offer:
- like 15 years working with uncomfortably large data
- experience as head of data, head of analytics, sr. manager of data science, and sr. analyst across several industries (primarily gaming, but also fintech, construction, AI, and B2B/B2C/C2C marketplaces)
- skills in SQL, Python, statistics, psychology, management, data science, data privacy, research, roguelikes, and other useful things
- a unique blend of work and education history that make me really good at predicting how people react to things

What I need:
- a full-time, salaried position paying $200k+ USD (with flexible time off)
- remote work (but I'm fine occasionally visiting a Seattle-based office)

What I prefer:
- working on novel projects, for organizations that make humanity better in a tangible way
- working with departments like trust & safety, fraud-prevention, user experience, or R&D
- not working for departments like sales & marketing

Finally, thank you all for being amazing and supportive 💝 💝 I'm so lucky to have the friends and contacts I've made here, and I really appreciate any help you can give.

(You can also just throw money at me if you want 💁‍♀️ buymeacoffee.com/alice.watson)
