#askfedi I have a small web site with a couple decades of rants and technical notes. It is entirely [and intentionally] written in HTML and CSS with no ads, cookies, or scripts... with typical page sizes of <100kb. I do not care about generating revenue or SEO.
These days I am pretty disappointed with the ever-increasing garbage scrapers, AI scrapers, Wordpress attacks, and general screwery I see in my logs. I'd like to hear some suggestions of alternative ways to present my content that avoids the constant pounding from annoying traffic. I am perfectly happy to #selfhost a solution and would want to run it on a small Linux VPS.
I have looked at Gemini and while I like it in concept, the lack of inline links and images is just too scaled back for me. I could maybe put up with it if the clients had MUCH better styling options, but they just don't.
