At a café in Montmartre, Paris. When I saw the vase in front of that red window I wanted to give it a shot even though it was fairly dark inside. Rested the camera on my teacup and hoped for the best.

A view of Paris. I was happy to get something green in the frame.

The jardin des Tuileries was a little barren, but I don't know what else you could expect in the middle of February. I tried out a wider lens, and Amelia tried out a new, Parisian haircut.

A quick shot before leaving the cozy streets of Montmartre and heading down a very long staircase, from a few weeks ago in Paris.

From a café in Montmartre a few weeks back. I had to rest the camera on top of my teacup to get it steady enough for the low light environment.

Air pollution has dropped significantly in #Paris in the last 15 years. Mayor @annehidalgo.bsky.social’s leadership has traded car space for green space, safe bike space, kid space.. and traded pollution for people. Good trade.

The Aérotrain was a mash-up of a hovercraft and a monorail. The Aérotrain 02 hit a record speed of 422 km/h (262 mph) on a test track outside #Paris in 1969. It would take a long time for TGVs to go that fast.

At the end of this clip, you can see it sliding on asphalt, in true hover mode.

One from the archives.

There a lot of different styles from the last 12 years, see them here:

Fascinating to see how fast Paris cleaned up its smog pollution.

Equally fascinating: how this same graphic has been making the round from French via German to now English meme status

#Revolution had a #Socialist commune made of #Paris!

Not a point heavily emphasized in primary school history books.

Though surely some politically aware primary teacher somewhere in #Australia, declared their classroom to be a socialist commune?

Any reports from readers?
