Job-hunting stress aside, I’m thankful to have the flexibility to catch up with friends across the country. Already planning my next visit.

Opening the Holga became a saga: stuck rolls, and electric shocks (yes, really). Gave up, went to a shop, and thankfully, they recovered my film. Forever grateful to patient photo techs. 🙏

The indoor Holga shots surprised me. I knew it’d struggle with low light + slow film, but the combo of messy dev work & NLP’s desperate calculations made for unpredictable magic.

This shot of Rico is easily one of my favorites from the trip. I love how those colors turned out.

I took a spontaneous trip to OKC to hang with a friend & fellow artist. I packed my Holga 135, a Fuji disposable, and too much anxiety about getting film through TSA. lowest key I just want to share: these baby cats. Missy Elliot (first pic) and her loving husband Rico. 🥺 😭

Looks like Kodak shared a few new numbers with their sellers (Kosmo Foto reveals). Many of these numbers are the annual film price increases (to keep pace with inflation). Some of these increases are pretty steep, like +30% for Gold. But others are going in a different direction!

But no shortage of dudes proclaiming that film is just a fad on socials expected in 2025.

I think I finally found the perfect use-case for pixel-shift super-resolution: scanning film.

✓ Subject is immobile, so no motion artifacts
✓ On a 24MP sensor, most film grain is larger than sensor noise after merging, so sensor noise essentially vanishes once downscaled

Here's two scans of the same frame, first done on the lab using a Noritsu professional scanner, and the second done using my Nikon Z6 III pixel-shift mode, then downscaled.
