I"m convinced my Polaroid SX-70, which is supposed to be refurbished, isn't metering light very well. Even in super bright outdoors light, all of my photos turn out severely underexposed. My film was made in Sept 2024 and the whole experience has been kind of finicky. I'm wondering if it's a film problem or a camera problem.

@Gargron most used tag is #believeinfilm awesome!

Hey #believeinfilm friends,

Looks like Kodak shared a few new numbers with their sellers (Kosmo Foto reveals). Many of these numbers are the annual film price increases (to keep pace with inflation). Some of these increases are pretty steep, like +30% for Gold. But others are going in a different direction!

Will you hoard any film this year?

The film version of my image Alleviate. I took this frame while exploring the #PNW coasts of #Washington and the #olympicnationalpark area.

I loved the way the sunlight was highlighting the edges of all the moss on these Alder trees. A beautiful display of #nature

Hey #believeinfilm friends,

Looks like Kodak will be pausing film production this November to make some serious factory upgrades!

But no shortage of dudes proclaiming that film is just a fad on socials expected in 2025.

The U.S. gov. has tried to silence photographers before.

"It hired famed photographer Dorothea Lange to take pictures as 110,000 Japanese and Japanese-Americans were removed from their homes on the West Coast and interned at remote military-style camps throughout the interior.

The agency had hoped Lange's photos would depict the process as orderly and humane.

But the hundreds of photos that Lange turned over did the opposite."

At the time, I thought I missed focus because focusing with a Rolleinar is hard (it is). But now having discovered the focus was out of whack, I wonder if it wasn't just the camera πŸ€”
