With the help of @beacondb , I was able to fix geoclue not being able to submit new locations to beaconDB! The MR is here: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/geoclue/geoclue/-/merge_requests/192

With that fixed, I made a Linux mobile stumbler that works with geoclue to submit data! You can find it here: https://gitlab.com/kop316/geoclue-stumbler

(Note that you'll need that patch for the stumbler to actually submit data).

SAME STATS, DIFFERENT IMPROVEMENTS...

@programming

After 12 months of managing bugs developers A, B, and C changed their approach.

Whose change is an improvement❓ What's your answer❓

Boosts appreciated! :boost_no: 🙂

More generally, the problem is domain independent.

Ok, I was not expecting this, but everything is working, and it only took 1 hour. I haven't updated the kernel yet, and I wonder if all these kernel changes for older devices have already been added to the official Linux Kernel. I'll leave it like this for a few days to check how it works. Also, there is an App Center now! In my days, we were lucky if we had an installer 😂

It's been 2 months since I last used my Surface Go, I updated it and now is pretty much useless. I was considering taking it to the recycling facility, but after searching online I realized I might have a fully functional touchscreen device by installing Linux. It's been at least 14 years since I used Linux. I have time to figure it out 🤞 let's see how it goes.

Here's how to confuse your friends or coworkers by setting your PS1 to "C:\>":

export PS1='C:\> '

Add this to your ~/.bashrc file, or to /etc/bashrc for everyone on the system just for lulz.

@boyperpia @mischievoustomato @feld @prettygood @sun Don't remind me, my wife's fertility had an unclear use case so I forced her to get an IUD. My child's use case is VERY clear to me though.

Bluefin and Aurora 41 are now available on the stable channel! If you've been thinking about trying an atomic Linux, these custom images are a great sweet spot for enthusiasts in terms of new features and stability.

Fedora 41 did not see big changes for Fedora Atomic Desktops, but we are certainly ramping up for the switch to bootc and being fully image-based!

I finally got a review unit for the latest #AMD version of the @frameworkcomputer Laptop 13.

It was the DIY edition, so I even got to put some of it together, installed #Fedora 41 on it, and performed a few tests.

Here is my thoughts on this excellent device and how well it runs #Linux:

Imagine wondering “When’s the next time that Christmas will be a Tuesday/Wednesday, for those sweet optimal public holidays (Jan 1st being exactly a week later)?”

Now imagine asking, idk, google or Siri or god forbid an actual calendar, instead of turning to the best tool for the job: systemd.

Here's the last "Bazzite Buzz"! This newsletter will go away, but we will continue to share big updates as we have them.

Another small update for Bluefin and Aurora! The main thing this go around is the addition of a new channel, the `stable-daily` channel. All about finding the update frequency sweet spot for folks. Please give us feedback on that channel!
https://universal-blue.discourse.group/t/bluefin-and-aurora-3-6-0/4513

More efficient updates coming your way with Bluefin and Aurora 3.4!

The main change is that those on the `latest` channel will have rechunk enabled, with this feature coming to `gts` and `stable` users after it's gotten more testing. Daily and weekly updates will be smaller!*

Goal is still to move to ztsd:chunked images - this is to help with the issue in the short term.

Fedora Atomic Desktops can make testing the Fedora 41 Beta a little easier. Follow these directions to try Fedora 41 on your system and rollback when you want to (or if something breaks 😅).

I just got my @frameworkcomputer merch! 😍

I am so glad to be a #Framework #Linux #Community #Ambassador.

I’d be super happy to show and let anyone who wants play around with these nifty goodies at the next events I am going to attend.
