- 99% believe that it describes a possible future, and warns for #dystopia if we don't reign in our tech.

- 80% lacks the language to realize that 1984 and #BraveNewWorld are here today. And that #Newspeak makes that unthinkable.

- 70% will build #skynet without realizing it, and confuse it for technological progress.

'Arrival' was released 8 years ago today. Besides being a fantastic #movie on its own merit, it also introduced me to the amazing Ted Chiang, who instantly became one of my favourite #SciFi writers.

Finished this yesterday and not sure what to think. In the end it was quite sad but for sure Ursula seemed to be exploring the nature of consciousness and morality. So much depth in the 180 or so pages it’s crazy.
